Hello my name is Nicolas Vasquez
My introduction to design came early in my life when I would stay up with my mother watching her build models and produce beautiful handmade plans for her architecture practice in Colombia. With that being said, I fell in love with design from a young age, from pen and paper to clay and ceramics, a kid constantly experimenting with form.
I went on to become an architect, with a MArch from Florida International University, but it was the various different avenues in design that I got to explore while pursuing my degree that stands out to me. While in school I co-found a micro-creative agency (Vacostudio.com) which has allowed me to explore all types of design projects not just limited to architecture, anything from branding to murals to art installations.
All these different projects keep me passionately studying design in the real world, as well as culture, trends, technology, and consumers. I want to continue growing as a designer keep learning what works and do more of it, but also to learn what doesn’t work and make it better.
