The Loop Station is introduced to the Miami Beach context to consolidate surrounding bus stations into one location thus extending the existing pedestrian language established throughout Lincoln Rd. Most of the site is transformed into a pedestrian plaza. Various materials create different areas on the site. Permeable materials allow for the control and collection of stormwater. Native trees provide shade for the various urban furniture scattered throughout the site.
The project is designed to work Similarly to the existing Lincoln road Follies. The station is very light in mass in order not to break the views from the road and the adjacent buildings. The structure is open to allow for easy flow of people throughout the site.
